Your booking is secured once the 25% non-refundable deposit has cleared and written confirmation has been issued.
The balance is payable 10 days prior to check-in.
For bookings made less than 10 days prior to check-in, the full amount is due immediately.
No check-in is permitted without payment in full.
If you are booking far in advance, kindly assist us by ONLY paying the deposit and paying the balance when requested.

Acceptance of Booking Requests

All accommodation requests are subject to acceptance by Highland Giants Estate. We reserve the right, acting reasonably and lawfully, to decline a request. A booking is confirmed only once written confirmation has been issued.

Check Your Dates, Access & Suitability

Before accepting your quotation or paying, please make sure that:

your booking dates are correct;
the cottage and farm setting suit your party and dogs; and
your vehicle is suitable for the access information provided.

We provide detailed information and welcome questions before you book.

Weather or difficulty accessing the Estate in an unsuitable vehicle does not automatically qualify a booking for a refund or transfer. Our Cancellation Policy will apply.

Date changes and early arrivals cannot always be accommodated.

Payment

Deposits are not refundable & the balance is payable

10 - 12 days before arrival.

No Check in is permitted without payment in full.

We reserve the right

to cancel any bookings where the balance has not been paid 5 days

prior to check in.

Terms of Payment

We do not accept screen shots as proof of payment.

No cash deposits (additional fee's will be levied).
Payment will be considered received once the funds have cleared our account.

By accepting a quote and paying the non-refundable deposit, you accept all applicable policies, terms and conditions and indemnities.

Rates

Rates are per person per night, not per cottage, with additional charges for extra guests and dogs.

Full payment is required before check-in.

Special Offers

If more than one special offer applies for the same period the larger discount amount will be applied to the booking.

No Payment Plans

If booking far in advance, please pay only the deposit & the balance when requested.

Monthly payments are not accepted, and additional administrative fees will be charged for each extra payment in such cases.

Guest responsibility: dates, suitability and access

Highland Giants Estate makes reasonable efforts to provide guests with clear, current and relevant information about our cottages, facilities, working-farm environment, road access and vehicle recommendations before a booking is confirmed.

Before accepting a quotation or making any payment, guests are responsible for checking the booking dates and satisfying themselves that the Estate, selected cottage, facilities, access conditions and travel arrangements—including their chosen vehicle—are suitable for their party, children, dogs and individual requirements. Guests are encouraged to ask us about anything that remains unclear before booking.

Weather and rural road conditions may change. Weather conditions, personal preferences or difficulty accessing the Estate because a guest’s vehicle is unsuitable for the access information provided do not automatically entitle the guest to a refund or transfer to alternative dates. Any cancellation or requested date change will be considered under the applicable Cancellation Policy and South African law.

To the extent permitted by law, Highland Giants Estate is not responsible for loss, delay, inconvenience or additional expense resulting from a guest’s failure to review or act upon the information and access guidance supplied before booking.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If Highland Giants Estate cannot provide the booked accommodation, or if access becomes objectively unsafe or impossible, the circumstances will be addressed under the applicable law and Cancellation Policy.

Cancellation Policy

A reservation that is cancelled or not taken up is regarded as a cancellation and is subject to the following rules:

Cancellation:

31 days or more prior to the arrival date, 25% of the full reservation amount will be forfeited.
30 - 21 days prior to the arrival date, 50% of the full reservation amount will be forfeited.
20 days or less prior to the arrival date, or on the arrival date, 100% of the full reservation amount will be forfeited.

Refund Policy & Credit Vouchers

Strictly No Refunds.

We respectfully request that guests only pay the non-refundable deposit amount on booking, unless specifically requested (e.g., 1-night stay or a booking made less than 10 days before check-in).

Should you pay the full amount, you do so at your own risk.

If you pay in full in advance & need to cancel your booking, a credit voucher valid for a minimum of 6 months may be issued to be used as a deposit for a future booking, provided that we can get a replacement for your cancelled booking.

The value of the voucher will be the value of the replacement booking (less applicable admin fee), to a maximum amount of the 75% of the full value of the booking.

Vouchers may have limitations or minimums specific to them. Vouchers are not valid for long weekends unless otherwise specified

Once a voucher has been used against a booking, it cannot be reissued, refunded, nor the new booking transferred to alternative dates.

Pet Policy applies

We are delighted to welcome your dog as part of the family.

However, we are a dog-friendly guest farm, not a dedicated dog holiday destination.

We do not offer refunds, cancellations, or date changes if your dog is unable to travel

Damages & Extra Cleaning

Guests are accountable for any damages or breakages

including burnt pots, dish cloths, oven gloves, kitchen utensils, mats, blankets

Extra cleaning charges may apply for heavily soiled linens, towels, and furnishings.

Heading 6

Highland Giants Estate is a privately owned working farm and accommodation establishment. We reserve the right, acting reasonably and lawfully, to manage admission to, access to and conduct on the Estate, enforce applicable policies, and take reasonable steps to protect our guests, staff, animals, property and farm operations.

Indemnity

Entry into Highland Giants Estate is subject to your acceptance of the Indemnity clause, a confirmed booking is an acceptance of this indemnity for all guests staying and / or visiting over the booking period.

Indemnity Clause

I fully understand and accept that entrance into Highland Giants Estate shall be undertaken at my own risk and I understand on behalf of myself and fellow guests to indemnify, hold blameless and absolve the company, its members, their associates, employees, fellow guests and all staff of Highland Giants and any persons connected whether directly or indirectly with any of the aforementioned parties against any claims which may be made arising out of any loss, damage, injury, costs or expense to property or persons while on the property of Highland Giants Estate of whatever nature and from any cause whatsoever so arising, even in the event of negligence of any aforesaid parties.
