Four Seasons in One Stay. 

Dullstroom can be very cool, it’s always recommended to pack something warm.

 

Be water wise. 

Report any water issues or leaks as soon as possible. 

Pipes can freeze in winter. 

Our ability to pump can be impacted by load shedding.

 

Stick to existing roads

when driving around the farm, do not make new ones.

 

You are welcome to fly your drone on our farm, however,

do not fly over someone else’s cottage / house and this disturbs the peace and is intrusive.

Please refrain from driving around the farm playing loud music.

LOADSHEDDING

Please add this to your loadshedding app so that you are not taken by surprise during your stay.

There is occasionally no cell phone signal during periods of no power.

In the cottage:  1 back up light, paraffin lanterns & candles.  Gas hob and kettle

We recommend that you bring some extra torches or lights with you.

ROAD ACCESSIBILITY

 Our gravel road is a municipal road and sadly, some sections are in a bumpy state. 

The road is accessible to standard clearance vehicles, but is

not recommended for low profile vehicles. 

Only during rainy season may the road become tricky for standard vehicles,

but we do our level best to keep it accessible as possible.

Just breathe and take it slow,

once you are on our road you are only 4 km's from your desitnation.

Summer is rainy season and the roads can get very muddy. 

Stick to existing vehicle tracks, don't drive through fresh thick mud.

NOT PROVIDED in the cottage: 

 

torch or rechargeable lights; salt, pepper, spices, tea, coffee, milk,

sugar, 2-pin adaptor & charcoal. 

The nearest shops are +- 20 mins (30 kms) away in either Dullstroom or Lydenburg.

 

Extra large pot or potjie pot if you want to make a potjie or stew

PROVIDED in the cottage

Toilet roll and some firelighters

 bring extra firelighters

Towels; Bedding and Linens

We do not offer the daily changing of towels (unless circumstances dictate otherwise). 

Refreshing of towels and linen is only offered for long stays.

additional fee's will be levied for fresh towels daily.

All bedrooms have extra blankets and some have oil heaters as well.  

 

Basic cleaning items

(i.e. dishwashing liquid, handy andy, bleach, tea towels. cleaning cloths, etc).

All lounges have fireplaces.

The kitchen is equipped with a residential Fridge / Freezer, an electric oven with gas hob,

a microwave oven, stove top kettle and an electric toaster, there is also a coffee plunger and a teapot. 

 

All cottages are on a septic tank system, please do not flush anything other than toilet paper

down the toilet.  NO nappies, sanitary items, wet wipes, etc. 

  MAID SERVICE  

 

Available if arranged in advance. min. R 100.00 per service

Tips for the staff are always very appreciated.

 

If you do make use of the maid service, kindly pay the lady directly in cash or

leave it in the cottage when you depart. 

Our ladies do not offer the service of doing your washing.

They will make beds, wash dishes, clean the kitchen and bathroom and

sweep and mop as needed / requested.

Our staff do not call on the cottages at all unless requested. 

Kindly let us know if you need your rubbish bins emptied.

FIREWOOD 

 

There will be wood in the cottage for your arrival (+- 35 kg / 1 bag).  

 

Extra wood is available at R60 per bag, payable in cash.

This can be pre ordered and put in the cottage prior to your arrival.

Our staff do not live on the farm and do not often work on weekends so please assist us by requesting wood the night before or earlier in the morning when staying on weekends.

Some roads are only accessible to certain vehicles and some roads are

only accessible by foot.

Approach waterfalls with caution during rainy season.

You access our farm and its environs at your own risk.

 

Remember - we are a working farm,

Farm related activity can not be avoided during the week, this includes but is

not limited to the burning of fire breaks and grass cutting.

Open Fires

July - November are high fire risk months.

Please do be aware of open fires and make sure you extinguish any outside fires (braais)  when you are finished with them.
